A massive congratulations and heart-felt thank you to brothers Thabiso and Siyabonga Malibeng who ran the Soweto Marathon this past weekend in support of SA Federation for Mental Health.
The Malibeng brothers completed the annual race in under 5-hours, a fantastic achievement for the first timers. At the same time, they managed to raise a wonderful R10 000.00 and counting for the organisation.
Firstly, thank you very much for allowing us the opportunity to work alongside the organisation for such a great cause. I believe over and above the little that we have raised, the ability to communicate the importance of mental health and to spark the conversations in our immediate and extended circles has been one of the positives that has come out of this campaign. There is obviously a lot that still needs to be done, but I am a true believer in that getting the message across to one person is better than none. We will continue to “fight the good fight”.
The Soweto marathon was a physical and mental test. Beyond the fact that it was our first marathon, dealing with the endless uphills and downhills of Soweto was a big challenge. Nevertheless, we managed to finish the race in less than 5 hours (not the result that we were hoping for as we had aimed to finish within 4 hours).
Thank you very much for your constant support and positive messages.
