SA Federation for Mental Health (SAFMH) Deputy Director, Leon de Beer, raised awareness about the ongoing crisis of male suicide in South Africa during an interview with eNCA on World Suicide Prevention Day.
Leon spoke about the silent epidemic of male suicide in South Africa as men continue to lose their lives to suicide, often not talking about their mental health problems and struggling in silence with issues such as unaddressed anxiety and depression.
