SAFMH Included In Necessary Conversations About Men’s Mental Health

SAFMH News Room

To commemorate World Mental Health Month, John Craig in collaboration with Polo South Africa introduced a new series – Mind Matters, a platform dedicated to inspiring, supporting, and empowering conversations around mental health.

SA Federation for Mental Health’s Deputy Director, Leon de Beer, added his voice to a podcast panel that included football legend Lucas Radebe, Kgaugelo Habyane, and Tshegofatso Sephula.

“The World Health Organisation clearly says that, to be healthy, you have to have physical, mental and social health. When we talk about mental health, we are talking about one’s mental wellbeing and their ability to form meaningful relationships, fulfil their potential in life, to deal with life stresses effectively, and to make a positive contribution towards society.” – Leon de Beer

The podcast sees the panelists explore the challenges men face and the importance of mental health support. You can watch all the available episodes below.

Episode 1: Kicking Down The Stigma

Episode 2: Gent’s It’s Ok To Not Be Ok
